Development Weight for Tech and Design Ratios[edit | edit source]

Development Weight for Tech and Design Ratios serves to 2 purposes.

  1. It is used for calculation of the amount of Tech and Design points that are generated during development (see Tech and Design Points Generation Algorithm)
  2. It determines minimum Tech and Design point required for Specialization training (= 900 * Development Weight for Tech and Design Ratio).

Topic Genre Combinations[edit | edit source]

Due to how the algorithm works, the Great Combos are the combinations that have exactly 1, and Strange Combos are the combinations that have exactly 0.6, in the following table.

Since 1.4, some missions can modify the values of this table : these are the default values only. Topics that can be modified are marked with a *

When a Custom Console is developed, it has its genre values set based on the player's previously released games list. A tally is made of all genres used, with primary genres adding 1.0 to the tally and secondary genres adding 0.5. This genre tally is then sorted from highest to lowest, thus most frequently to least frequently used. The sorted genre list is then assigned these values: [1, 1, 0.9, 0.8, 0.8, 0.7]. Therefore the two most frequently used genres get 1.0, the third most used is 0.9, the fourth and fifth are 0.8, and the sixth/least is 0.7.

When a Custom Console is developed, it has its audience values set based on the player's previously released games list. A tally is made of all audience targets used. This audience tally is then sorted from highest to lowest, thus most frequently to least frequently used. The sorted list is then assigned these values: [1, 0.9, 0.8]. Therefore the most frequently used audience target gets 1.0, the second 0.9, and the third/least 0.8.
