Development Weight for Tech and Design Ratios

Development Weight for Tech and Design Ratios serves to 2 purposes.

  1. It is used for calculation of the amnout of Tech and Design points that are generated during development (see Tech and Design Points Generation Algorithm)
  2. It determines minimum Tech and Design point required for Specialization training (= 900 * Development Weight for Tech and Design Ratio).

When a Custom Console is developed, it has its genre values set based on the player's previously released games list. A tally is made of all genres used, with primary genres adding 1.0 to the tally and secondary genres adding 0.5. This genre tally is then sorted from highest to lowest, thus most frequently to least frequently used. The sorted genre list is then assigned these values: [1, 1, 0.9, 0.8, 0.8, 0.7]. Therefore the two most frequently used genres get 1.0, the third most used is 0.9, the fourth and fifth are 0.8, and the sixth/least is 0.7.
